When and why did you start training for fighting? I’ve always had a passion and interest in fighting. I’d be in the neighborhood with my gloves and asking about technique. I joined a formal gym when I was 17. I really looked to it for a way to get me and my family out of poverty.
What professional titles have you held? CFFC Champion 2x & Conflict Champion
Any accomplishments in amateur combat sports? Amateur Spartyka & Battle in the South Champion. I was 7-1 as an ammy with my only loss being against Tony Gravely in a rematch.
Any belts/ ranks in grappling disciplines? Black Belt in BJJ
What has been your toughest fight to date and why? The toughest fight to date would be with myself, the man in the mirror. If I can conquer him, I can conquer the world.
Who is your favorite fighter and why? Myself. I am forever developing. I love my style and my ability to adapt to my opponents. My strategic mindset, athleticism, & my relentless pursuit of perfecting my craft and learning new skills.
What was your job before you started fighting? I’ve worked as a personal trainer – boxing class instructor, and when I lived in North Carolina I used to go on base and hold pads and help train.
Personal Life / Background: I like to go out in nature, the beach, the mountains, and I love to try new things. I have two brothers and I talk to them on a regular basis. I do not have any kids or pets. I have been traveling around a lot recently and seeing the world. I have been fighting my whole life. My grandfather was a boxer, so it came naturally to me. I was born to fight.
Other relevant information: I just started training at Tiger Muay Thai recently in Thailand. I still plan on training in Florida with my head coach Greg Choplin at KO Zone. While in Thailand, I have been training nonstop 2-3 times per day for the last 6 months until I got the call for the fight 2.5 weeks out.
