When and why did you start training for fighting? I started fighting mainly for self defense reasons, and from the first submission I learned, I was hooked and progressed from there.

What ranks and titles have you held? I held the IKF kickboxing title and I have four gold, two silver and a bronze medal from multiple grappling tournaments.

Do you have any heroes? I look up to and my dad and my grandpa, for sure.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It’s a dream come true to fight in the UFC. I’ve been training for 12 years, and to get to this point means everything to me.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I started to go to college for EMS, but fighting has my attention at the moment and I haven't been able to complete my schooling.

What was your job before you started fighting? I’m a manger/accounting assistant at Streamline Insurance and then I teach at UFC Gym on certain days on top of training full-time.

Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? I had a very successful amateur career, going 14-0 with 12 KOs and two submissions.

Favorite grappling technique: Chokes

Favorite Striking technique: Anything with boxing, but I also enjoy variations of elbow strikes.
