Announcements
UFC, the world’s premier mixed martial arts organization, today announced a multi-year partnership with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), LVMPD Foundation, and Fighting for The Future Foundation to establish a youth mentoring initiative in conjunction with select schools throughout Las Vegas.
Designed for high-risk youth ages 12-17, the youth mentoring initiative will comprise free after-school tutoring for student-athletes participating in the program. In partnership with UNLV Boxing and the UNLV School of Dental Medicine, both community partners of the LVMPD Foundation, tutors will be provided for five free sessions per week at Fight Capital Gym.

Participants of this program will also have access to three free MMA-based fitness classes per week at Las Vegas’ legendary Fight Capital Gym, which will teach various levels of disciplines that are the foundation of mixed martial arts, including Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Wrestling, Judo, and Jiu-Jitsu.
This program aims to help young people develop skills with a focus on self-discipline and self-defense, while giving them access to coaches and instructors from Fight Capital Gym, as well as after-school tutoring, in a safe and supportive environment.
“We have an amazing relationship with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, and we’re excited to launch our youth mentoring program to help underprivileged kids throughout the Las Vegas community,” said UFC President & CEO Dana White. “Providing kids with free after-school tutoring to help them excel in the classroom and offering training at a world-class gym like Fight Capital, are great ways to build their discipline and confidence.”
In conjunction with training, this program will also periodically host youth engagement activities with local law enforcement, providing opportunities for the LVMPD to build relationships and trust throughout the Clark County community.
“Youth who are engaged in a positive activity after school are less likely to end up in trouble,” LVMPD Sheriff Kevin McMahill said. “This partnership between LVMPD and UFC brings kids to the gym and keeps them in the classroom. Mixed martial arts are centered around discipline, integrity, and humility, and these are qualities that we also embrace.”
The sport of mixed martial arts has been proven to help young people develop a wide range of skills to support their physical and mental health, including improved cognitive function and muscle strength, better balance and coordination, enhanced flexibility, and better self-awareness.
UFC Foundation, a non-profit organization, works in conjunction with UFC’s corporate responsibility program (CSR), #UFCInTheCommunity, to strategically collaborate with partners, sponsors, and athletes to develop charitable programs designed to make a positive impact on the community by advocating for youth, public service, equality, and supporting those who fight to overcome life-threatening illnesses.
Fight Capital Gym will serve as the location for the pilot program, with other gyms to follow throughout the Las Vegas Valley scheduled to open in 2025. To learn more about the program and register, visit FIGHTINGFORTHEFUTUREFOUNDATION.
